Sea Traffic Control: Managing the Digitalization of the High Seas

Wed. March 14| 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM | 202

Satellite technology is bridging the communications gap from sea to shore, and is enabling the transition from connected ships toward "digital smart ships", eventually moving to autonomous vessels. With these advancements, the seas will need to be closely monitored to control ship traffic, and improve safety. Are we equipped to manage the digitalization of shipping? This panel will discuss how digitalization will impact the market and the possibility of forming a "Sea Traffic Control" to manage vessel traffic as more shipping routes become accessible and sea traffic increases.
